Will Core Audio drivers be available as a separate download so Mbox users can use Digi HW with other software?

Re: Is SP/DIF an additional I/O on MBox?

If you are trying to use the SPDIF inputs along with the analog inputs to record more than 2 tracks at a time, it won't work. Due to USB bandwidth limitations, the Mbox can only record 2 tracks...

Re: OT : Apple "switch" ads

I agree - I was less than impressed with the new ads. Considering how much time, effort, and $$$ Apple is putting into the "Switch" campaign, I thought the ads would have a lot more OOMPH!

Then...

Re: A new mbox user (and a bit frustrated)

Did you turn off all unneccesary extensions BEFORE installing PTLE?

Did you trash PT Free and all its prefs BEFORE installing PTLE?

Are you running Mac OS 9.2.2?

Did you update PTLE to...

Re: MBox/PTLE and MIDI?

Of course. I do it every day.

First, you need a USB MIDI interface. I like the MOTU Fastlane USB, but the MIDISport is good too. You also need MIDI cables, and a MIDI controller.

Hook it all...

Re: DBX Tube Mini-Pre with 58/57\'s

Yes, there will be a negligible difference. Dynamic mics like the SM57/58 are great in certain applications. But they do have their limitations. The SM57 as you know is a classic mic for snare drums...

Re: Upgrading CPU and cache on G4 dual 450?

I didn't see it on the web site. It was an advertisement in Macworld. Hopefully the Sonnet Encore ZIF G4 1GHz AGP will support my Sawtooth. The Encore Dual ZIF processor upgrade did not.

Re: Upgrading CPU and cache on G4 dual 450?

I stand corrected. Sonnet is releasing 800MHz and 1GHz upgrades for AGP G4's.

Re: memory settings for P/T and DAE???

I allot 200MB to both DAE and PTLE and have great success. But I have read on this very forum that 100MB is sufficient.

Re: Help me choose what to buy for my "studio"

If you want to invest in a great all-purpose condenser mic, the Shure KSM32 is a fantastic choice. I own two and they are true workhorses - I use them for anything and everything; vocals, percussion,...

Re: Upgrading CPU and cache on G4 dual 450?

I checked xlr8yourmac.com and I couldn't find any CPU upgrades for your Mac. Most upgrade cards are for older Mac and G3 users. I think your Dual G4 450MHz is faster than most available upgrades. The...

Re: performance question

Short answer - more than what you're getting now. images/icons/smile.gif

I guess that depends on the plugins. My G4 400MHz can do about 4 or 5 Waves 3.5 plugins before things get a little slow,...

OMS vs. FreeMIDI

When I bought my MBox a few weeks ago, it was my first experience with Pro Tools. I was a little shocked to see that Pro Tools was still supporting OMS, a piece of software that for all intents and...

Re: Music apps WITHOUT printed manuals?

Re: 9.2 and USB 2.0

The USB ports on all iMac (including the new flat panel models) are all USB 1.1 which means you can not use USB 2.0 devices.

I'm afraid you are stuck using the internal HD.
