Hey IRE21!!
Just took a closer look at yer MoBo and Allen is correct - ofcourse!! There are 2 ATA and 2 SATA interfaces on the South Bridge ...PLUS 1 ATA and 2 SATA interfaces on the Promise...

Hmmm - yeah just checked the ASUS site, looks like you'll have to get one ATA drive and one SATA drive... You dont want to be puttin 2 ATA drives on the same interface (master + slave) - I reakon you...

No...my understanding is Promise is just a brand name for drive interfaces/controllers...I have an onboard Promise controller on my MoBo (A7V333) it is an ATA controller...Promise also do SATA......

Is the 2400+ faster than the 2500 Barton?? ...why?? My 2200+ runs at 1.8GHz and I set my 2400+ to 2GHz in the BIOS - so I had assumed the bigger the number the higher...
