On the IBC in Amsterdam, i've spoken with one of the Digidesign techs.
He told me that they are workingh on a soltution. It has something to do with the new Quickpunchcode, they wrote voor PT 6.4

I have excatly the same problem.
When recording a voiceover, after closing the session and later open it, some audio regions are missing from the timeline and the regionlist.
I've got the message...

We love our Doremi!
It saves a lot of time. We record the picture now qand in the same time we do the OMF import from the AVID, or record the audio from the DIGI.
We use PT as the master and chase...

Yes, that's it images/icons/smile.gif

Be sure that in your peripherals the machine control is disabled and that in your session setup in the Generate Timecode box the box USING USD is disabled....

Sheldon,

Sorry not to be exact, but...

We do the play out simultanious.

We just slave our PT to the Digi and when the editor makes his digitalcut for video, the audio is coming from PT.

We are doing this every day.

Here is how we do this:

Let the Avid editor make a Digital Cut to Digi Beta.

Connect the audio input of the DigiBeta to your ProTools out.

Take the SMPTE out...

We are using Digitranslator from the beginning of it's launc.
Before that we used the OMF tool.
And believe me the OMF tool was a nightmare.
So if you can, go for the Digitranslator!!

adaptec2940 and AVID drives?????

I'm using a 9500 with adaptec2940 to connect to the Megadrivebox for the AVID removables.
Firmware was 3.0 fot the adaptec and the OS8.1 with PT 4.3
So far everything works great.
Now we updated...
