Running PT without hardware

Is it possible to use protools without having the hardware attached? eg: Mixing on my laptop without the mbox attached.

If so what do I have to do?

Jam is a more complete audio only 'mastering' program. Jam allows for: CD text, crossfades, stereo gain leveling. All NOT available in toast. Using this program you can really 'complete/finalize'...

Digi has added the exchange section to their site but still nothing on trade ups for us 001 users. I guess we can assume their won't be one. images/icons/confused.gif

How long untill Digi fixes the beta?

I'm really excited about updating my Protools 5.1 software but not untill the beta has been de-bugged. The prevelance of the -9060 error forces me to wait.

But I got a Rode NT1 and I'm very happy with it. Worth every penny ($145 w/ shockmount on ebay.)

If you have an accustic/electric what works best is to track it both simultanously with a mic in front (near the sound hole) and run it direct then blend the two tracks.

Zero Latency?

Hi Team!
Is it possible to stop the lantency I'm hearing? It's not sooooooo bad but it is a bitch to record drums. Can this be eliminated? My buddy with a crappy PC and Cakewalk has zero latency....
