Correct. Setting the threshold to 0 keeps the compressor from actually doing anything to the signal. My issue wasn't with the coloration that I heard in the Graphic EQ, it was how it transitioned...

I would assume that it is digital. The feel of the knob definitely makes me believe that (endless rotary encoder). I am curious about the possibility of bits dropping at lower volumes.
