I Was fighting an issue like this and found the solution.

My setup:
osx, PT 12, MBOX Pro (3)

What I wanted:
Monitor the incoming audio on the record enabled track, without using input-only...

The idea is to work on them only in PT11. I understand that PT10 isn't needed in this case, since we have the G5 with 6.4 available. If we didn't have access to the G5, we'd need to...

Luckily, we still have our G5-based PT 6.4 running, so we're doing a File->Save Copy As... and then selecting BWF as audio format. That's working no problem.

Question:

Which would be quicker? ...
