Thanks, taperocket. I think we're sold on the new iMac with extra drive. We have a Mac Pro that's rock solid in our other studio but for VO only work, I think this is the way to go.

Thanks, but we don't have time to custom build. XP is very stable but goes the way of the Pony Express in a couple of months, so if PT 7.4 works with Vista, why not try? I just want to know hwo fast...

Thanks, LSW. Seems to be a "maybe", "maybe not" situation. We were looking at a 420 but the Dell tech had no clue about installing XP for us...you know the drill.
