Re: Favorite Recording Guitar Amp

The Mesa Recto is fantastic for heavy stuff...that crunch is pure beauty and easily the best "heavy" tone-maker on the planet. The 5150 has a great liquidy lead tone, but the clean channel is...

Re: CD labeling kits?

I have produced some great looking labels and covers with NEATO Mediaface. People can't believe they are homemade. A little practice and graphic arts skill and you are in business.

Re: Which CD burner to choose?

I have three 4X4X16 Yamaha burners and they work GREAT. I had a no namer that died after a year, but no problems or beer coasters with any of the Yamahas. All IDE by the way.

Re: Need advice on \'realistic\' gunfire scene

The gun sounds on the Playstation game Syphon Filter sound huge. Just dump some into the 'puter and blast away (if you can quit playing the game long enough...very addictive.)

Re: Let me hear what your 001 can do

Hey Digi9000000, is that a POD? The lines have blurred on guitar sounds to the point where I can't tell what is an amp and what's the POD (that's a good thing.)

Re: You did WHAT on a recording??????

Definitely the coolest thread I have seen in a while...we stuck a mic under tupperware bowls for bongos once (hey, we didn't have any bongos.) We were doing a parody song once and we needed the sound...

Re: Drum machines

Hey NNY...I have the roland XP-30 as well. Make sure you have your MIDI Channel set for channel 10...that's where the drum sounds hide. I couldn't get my drum sounds to work either, until I read that...

Re: Drum machines

Get Acid 2.0 and some Acid loops CD's and save yourself a TON of time and aggravation. You can really do some amazing stuff with the loops CD's and since they are recordings of actual drummers, you...

Re: Any plans for DirectX plugin Compatibility?

Does'nt it suck that the 001 is not compatable with DX?!? I LOVE Pro Tools, but if I had to do it all over again, I would have gone with another program. The lack of cross-platform plug-in support...

Re: a few more stupid questions from a potential digi001 user

Hi Moe...here's my 2 cents. I love my Digi 001. Pro Tools is wonderful to work in and it is amazing that there is so much power available to the home user. That said...if I had to do it all over...

Re: What Plug-ins To Buy?

Re: DirectX drivers are a must

Sucks doesn't it?? I guess Avid wants to keep Pro Tools as a different animal from all the other DAW's out there by not making it compatable with ANYTHING. Seems like it would make more sense to have...

Re: Effects

Look on page 271 of the manual. It can be done with track send & returns. Just output the send of the original track to whatever outputs you want, run cables from those exact "outs" on the back of...

Re: What is the best drum machine?Hard or Soft

You might want to check out some loops CD's. They are recordings of real drummers that you just piece together to make drum tracks. The Acid Loops CD's are great and feature full-fledged drum tracks...

Re: CD-R Vs. CD-RW

You can get bulk CDR's for $.25 each, so just get those and you don't have to worry with the "W" in CDRW. I find that formatting the re-writable discs combined with the slower write speeds is not...

Re: getting audio from a VHS tape into my compter

Just get a couple of cords (if you are doing stereo tracks, otherwise a single cord for mono) with RCA's on one end and 1/4" on the other. Plug the 1/4" in the 001 and you are rolling. You can also...

Re: Why the Digi001?

I was an owner of the Roland VS 880EX. They are EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING to work with and learn. I messed around with it for a few months and finally sold the thing to save my sanity. They are not very...
