Re: Let\'s hear your latest stuff....right here

Yeah, I would tend to agree with you. I've never been a fan of T-Rack's compressor plugin.

Greg and Doug:

Sorry, haven't visited the forum in a few days. I'll try to download the new version(s) and give'em a listen tonight.

Greg: It's hard to say what exactly since it's been a few...

Re: Let\'s hear your latest stuff....right here

Cheap place to put your mp3's if you want everyone to hear them.

Greg,

Steak Dinner Date is a great fun song and the mix is wonderful. Obscenely overcompressed,...

Re: Let\'s hear your latest stuff....right here

You shouldn't really ever hear it. If you do, then you've gone too far and you end up with a 'pumping mix'. The whole idea with compression is to reduce the dynamic range in something and even out...

Re: Let\'s hear your latest stuff....right here

He was referring to my comment about the kick drum being 'out of balance'. e.g. it sticks out in the mix a little too much. Everything should have it's own place in the mix, but nothing should...

Re: Let\'s hear your latest stuff....right here

Doug,

Nice song and great instrumentation on it. I think the kick is a little out of balance volumewise with everything else. The only other problem I hear at all is overcompression. I can hear...

Re: my latest

Joz - Very nice song. Good production. Compressed/limited too much, but aside from that it sounds awesome.

Re: Let\'s hear your latest stuff....right here

Roy,

Thumbs up for "Lovers" Very well done and the vocalist has a wonderful voice. Perfect for that song too.

I thought the drums sounded just a tad thin, myself. Someone else commented on...

Re: Let\'s hear your latest stuff....right here

Eddie,

Very nice recording job. Mix is pretty darn good. The guitar seems a little low in the mix, but not too bad.

Vocals seem a little dry tho.

Other than that, can't think of too...

Re: Let\'s hear your latest stuff....right here

The L1....That's it. I dumped that plugin SO fast when the L2 came out and I heard how much -better- it was. I -knew- what I was hearing something familiar but had long forgotten the L1.

Listening to the streaming version of your album right now and I must say that I dig what you did here . Good songs, good performances, good mixes, just good stuff in general. (Is that our very own...

Re: Let\'s hear your latest stuff....right here

xeetstreet,

Glad you posted your website...I'd been looking for it.

Nice jazz vibe ya got there. I think the drums/cymbals might be a tad hot in a couple of the songs. Good stuff overall tho....

Re: Let\'s hear your latest stuff....right here

If you recorded the MIDI out of your electronic drumkit, you could probably get any soundbank that follows the General MIDI format for the percussion. That lets SampleTank out, unless you're willing...

Re: Let\'s hear your latest stuff....right here

Make me the third.

I think the programming on it is great....but I just don't care for the drum sounds themselves.

Yeah....that open hi-hat really sticks out in the mix.... turning it down ever...

Re: Let\'s hear your latest stuff....right here

Probably is.... this was one of the songs we recorded w/o a click-track. The tempo varies and it was REALLY hard for the drummer to keep up with them once we got him in the studio. All in all tho,...

Re: Let\'s hear your latest stuff....right here

Well, it's not a final mix by any means. In fact, I was playing with it up until the point I bounced it to mp3.

What are you listening to the song with?.. Headphones, Home Stereo?, etc? I don't...

Re: Let\'s hear your latest stuff....right here

Yeah, I can't remember exactly -when- this mix is from...it's probably the bass guitar...I'll have to go back and double check and see if I used a compressor on that track and/or tweak the settings...

Re: Let\'s hear your latest stuff....right here

Ok... here's a couple for ya'll to critique.

The first one is kind of a Country/Crossover Ballad. We've had quite a bit of interest in this from Nashville.
