Re: Dolby Atmos Monitor Controllers

Also the newer BlueSky AMC can be expanded to 16 Channels of analog/digital with room tuning. I have had it since November and have been very happy with it. Tuning takes a while, I don't find it...

I am having this issue too on a HD3 running ProTools 9.0.1, new MacPro 6 core. It seems to be the voices and does not matter if I have tracks set to DYN or specify voices, randomly will not play...

Re: I just hate the new pro tools here is why:

I love PT8 and I do post-production. There is plenty of post related features, it was certainly not just a music-makers version. IMHO, you are just tripping on the fact that it doesn't look like what...

Re: 8.0.1 horizontal scroll increments increased!?

Yeah the scroll thing is a bummer, and you better believe that its getting top priority, but ProTools is the Ferrari of DAWs. Its gonna break sometimes. To me this is relatively minor in that it...

Re: RTAS Performance on HD8

Thats understandable. I know you guys are as eager as we are to improve ProTools. It has come a long way in the last few years, a fact that I am reminded of when I go to a clients facility that still...

Re: RTAS Performance on HD8

This is a great thread, so:

Digi, et. al.

I don't care what the problem is. Digi, its time to host a developer brain session with you, Apple, and key RTAS plug makers. You guys need to figure...

Re: Reducing processors in a PT 8 session

I have an 8 core, and it seems most stable with VI's set to use 5 processors. YMMV

Re: TDM synths

I totally agree, the Virus TDM is excellent and super reliable. I know its not practical to make sampler plugs TDM, but the Virus is proof that TDM synths can work great.

Re: Bugs in Protools 8?

Overall I am really digging 8, but there are a couple oddities / bugs:

•Occasional screen redraw errors on 5.1 panner where the green grid will display as large green boxes
•At least one...

Re: PT 8 - Box & Download - Or just Box Version

I think this is one of those updates you will want to have the physical box, manuals and disks... also, your local dealer would love to see you before the end of the year. Bring them a holiday card...

Re: RTAS Pops & Clicks

Run your NI software in stand alone if you have to. I never could get reliable performance from those plugs on my G5. It is much better on the Mac Pro, but still not perfect...

Re: ProTools crashes "out of memory"

So far so good, took 2GB of ram out and is rocking now. Research on Apple shows that ram is installed in the Mac Pro in pairs like this: http://manuals.info.apple.com/en/MacPro_MemoryDIMM_DIY.pdf

Re: ProTools crashes "out of memory"

I am thinking that the timing is more coincidence, but maybe there is some maintenance task that is running, I don't see it in the console however. But I like your idea of changing the clock..

Re: Audio Files Change to Quicktime On Crash

I am sure you probably already tried this but have you deleted all the digi volume databases? Haven't seen these issues yet in 7.4 but have in previous versions.

I have had similar issues with Lacie drives not playing well with other brands. Either not showing up or crashing on use (copy for example).

Re: mixing stems

For me, and this is coming from a few years of experience ;), I tend to mix radio spots peak limited to -6 with 8 to 10 db of dynamic range. TV shows limited to -10 with 10 to 12 db of dynamic range...
