i think if you turn the inputs down to zero it will be too low.
grab a guitar or bass or keyboard and run them into your preamp

with 4 gb ram installed
running cpu maxed out with 263 dverbs
@ 6 minutes in
cpu temp is 48
mb temp is 41

@7 min
mb temp went up to 42

1066 is the fastest setting in the bios.
i just set it to auto.
i'll try right now and see if it seems better
with auto, or 1066.

not much of a difference.
maybe about 5 or 6 more dverbs.

but i guess the test stresses your cpu
and not so much the ram.

i know the ram will help with vi's. ...

there are 2 pairs.

i have each 1 gb stick in 1 slot of each pair.

so essentially slots 1 and 3.

bios will not let me set the ram at 1333.
only 1066.

yes.
it settled to 50 degrees after 15 minutes and never moved after that.
that is at full cpu load running 263 dverbs for 40 minutes.

also, i did not even have the back 2 80mm fan's plugged...
