I bet you if just run the laptop off it's battery supply the noise will go away as well. It's when you run off mains power you may get noise on some laptops.

That's the problem with windows OS PC/Laptops you just don't know if you going to have any problems when running PT even if Digi approves it's compatibility. Mac.....well plug and play it just works....

Yeh the deals on the Dell Insp 6000 is not bad, but looks like I maybe looking at an Ibook.
The great thing about a Mac ...plugin and go. The PC laptop recommended by Digi is alot more...

You could upgrade/exchange one of your HD cards or there's the chassis option. I for one am sicking with my G4 and HD 3.

I can't see why you shouldn't stay with Nuendo or go to a 002. HD cards are just the start... you need IO boxs like the 192 IO or 96 IO, a midi io and then over priced plugins that sound pretty much...
