oh yeah, i forgot to mention i've also got a xlr8 500mhz g3 card in the 9600 as well as using serial port midi with an opcode studio 4.

right , no playback at all. I did BOOT from OS9.2, but this computer has OSX installed also on the drive, could that possible mess things up. Even if its fully booting from OS9 (not classic mode)?

Actually, we tried that and it seems to make no difference. Still just hearing dry guitar, and what is also wierd is that if we import a soundfile and just want to listen back to it playing....PT...

I have a friend who just got a brand new 800mhz ibook with an mbox. Heres what we did:

1) Booted up ibook from OS9.2
2) Installed OMS
3) Installed Protools 5.2.x

yeah, but doesn't vst wrapper cost $50.

It seems silly to by vst wrapper to use it, then in a few months get the MAS for free, since i'm already a registered owner.

Amplitube is truly remarkable and fun, probably the best $299 I ever spent. It would be fun to play it at live gigs, but I wonder what having a mac onstage instead of a marshall might do...

Seems to be less latency with the opcode driver.

I'm using it with amplitube vst and works very well with vision.

The direct i/o driver in my asio folder is not the same as the one you mention and have a link to above.

I think that one is made by steinberg and the one I have is made by opcode.

There is a direct i/o driver in my asio folder.

I also have the digi direct i/o extension installed.

In visions "hardware setup" window I select "direct i/o"

No DAE, I'm using the direct i/o driver that comes with the digi001 when you install PTLE software.

Be sure to get the freeware upgrade (at www.opcode.com) (http://www.opcode.com)) along with the new OS9 acadias.
