yeah, my ram tests fine, and it's 512 mb in there. i really think the problem was coming from that second volume.ddb file on the other mounted drive that i was using for storage... the kernel panics...

well, i just read that i need to trash the volume.ddb files on any other mounted drives, so unless anyone has a better suggestion, i guess that's just that.
