thank you but i guess i didn’t make my question clear enough. i’m more concerned with hooking up the external Hard drive and how that will be seen by the new PT file that i’d deleted audio from that...

and yes, protools has always been a great software program but it seems to be controlled by finance rather than realising some of us don't have deep pockets. But again, thank you for your help

Yes I guess it is easier with a reseller, though I thought it would be just as easy and more straight forward through Avid.
