The risk is that you will hook a some monitors up to the ALT and blow them up since it is full level with no mute. Obviously you need a disclaimer for a piece of code like that, but if it is hooked...

Yes, it's a custom build of XMon code that permanently enables the ALT outputs at unity gain that track the monitoring input selection.
You will lose that ALT surround OP capability though.

The control surface meters are sourced digitally from Pro Tools (via ethernet) whenever Main is selected in the monitor input source selector. When Main is not selected the surface meters are driven...

Use the Talkback Slate output on the TB/LB/util connector on the back of the XMon.
It is always on and is the sum of the Internal TB and External TB post Volume and mute.

The talkback is not...

No it is 18v Phantom on Listen1, Listen2 and Ext TB. It is permanently on.

Try Shure for credenza mount mics, they also have boundary mics that might be suitable for listen mics....

There is a switch underneath the Keyboard, on the rear of the PCB, that switches between Mac & PC key...

Absolutely, the insert returns are relay switched line inputs.
Use a TRS as it's all balanced.
The input impedance is about 25k (12k per leg) with a very good CMRR.

The selection makes no difference as the selector on a v11 system is implemented upstream of the outputs. Even an 06 box could be make before break on the OPs. So you will have two outputs fighting...

It's not a good idea to connect two outputs together, inputs are fine most of the time, but avoid connecting outputs together.

A solution to the original problem might be to use only the Main OP...
