If you edit using AVID DVXpress you can create a quicktime reference movie.

this is just a header that points to the original media which you must also have. This gives you a nice high quality...

I usde the Hollywood Dazzle unit to get firewire out to an analogue video screen.

You can use it the other way though to record to DV format using windows XP own software. Never used that though....

set 002 to standalone mode.

Press "utility" on right hand set of buttons. Choose "Test" then "Vegas"

Press "esc" to quit

Basically you are planning it the hard way.

Easy way is to make a quicktime of the video and imort that into your session using import movie command.
