Just thought I would put in a word for the Trak2 aswell. It worked wonders for me. It´s like heaven compared to the 888/24. I Just wish I had like 4 more images/icons/smile.gif

I messed around with a couple of those freewares (can´t remember the names) a couple of years ago.
None of them worked. All Sounded awful.

Try finding the song as a midifile.
Maybe somebody here...

Maybe I´m in the same situation, small on cash, and wondering what´s the best pre for less money.
Checked out those API´s (That´ll be around $8000 to track a whole kit). CANt AffOOoord.

Here´s another trick,
I use two reverbs, (one short or medium room) without pre delay,
and one long (mostly hall) with around 60ms predelay.
Then blend in a digirack long delay without any...
