Re: Looks like Waves\' EQ is clipping... What does this mean?

well EQ can boost frequencies, and that can boost the overall output.
You can clip a plugin and not clip the fader.
Yes, id pay attention to the waves meters, the seem to know what they are doing.

Re: Digi002 rack, how do I control last four input

I am fully aware of what the man knows, and how helpful he can be.
And thats my point. Unless you have something to add, don't say anything.

Where?

What is your problem?
If you don't intend to be helpful, don't post.

Re: plugins on record tracks

when you clip an input, you clip the hardware, so a software limiter will not do anything.
At 24 bits, you can comfortably record your peaks at -6db with plenty of room above the noise floor for...

PT Lightpipe is 48k.
MOTU 828 is 48k too, and it's not "inexpensive"
the new 896 will do the higher 96k, but its the cost of 002r, and it dosent come will full featured software (audiodesk is a...

Re: Firewire Mbox?

firewire can stream many many more times the amount of information than usb can.
Case in point, 002 rack can handle 18 inputs and midi, mbox, sputters out at 2.
Lower latency too.

Re: Firewire Mbox?

they wouldn't have let you trade up mbox to 002 unless something was in the works.

Re: ANy one hear of UAD-1 OSX?

I like being wrong:
Expansion is making a VST - RTAS that will run power-core and UAD.
Expected in one month.
This is huge news.

Re: ANy one hear of UAD-1 OSX?

the adapter is for vsti insyruments, works with rewire, not effects, Sorry.

Re: recording drums with the digi 002R

Re: iLok for registered PT LE users. PETITION

My take:

Allow only registered, valid users access to a usb dongle to activate PT in playback mode only through built in hardware - no recording, just playback.
I think this will be a very moot...

Re: recording drums with the digi 002R

Recording in 24 bit leaves enough headroom that if you set the input level to -6db, youll have plenty of space to mix.

The issue hes having is with the 002's pres not going low enough. I...

Re: recording drums with the digi 002R

There are no +4 -10 on the mic pres, only on the line inputs.
You could get a few external Mic pres pretty cheap to expand your capabilities from 4-8 mic pres, and use the new ones for drums.
The...

Re: Upgrading M-box to 002rack

Get pro tools to use pro tools. No matter what application you run, the digi hardware works much better with PT.
Core audio is fine, but can be a tad unreliable (updates, bugs,...

Re: Worth it? 2nd monitor? TiBook w/PT 6.1.1?

Yes, it improves things.
I also feel that having 002 is almost the same for me, as i have the mix window in hardware.
Also, when PT works on Panther, the Expose feature may work out well.
