Depends how you think about it. In my humble opinion, subscriptions are the perfect trap when you can NEVER leave and pay perpetually for the same good, over and over.

Using the UAD site is clearly just a sign of having too much expendable money :D

I still use Tapehead on quite a few Masters still. However, though it still sounds great it has many contenders for the crown these days. The new kid on the block is a great case in point.

Whatever hardware or software you find get the tone, the more power to you :-) Waves or non-Waves™️, the music consumer will decide on the results, not the processors.
