How did you fix this error using the tech support util...what option did you choose? I just installed the PT LE 8 update, and this is the only error I get when the Notation Libraries load as PT loads...

I discovered that no additonal setup or interfaces were required to connect the Firewire to the IDE drives and also that Windows XP uses a default driver for Firewire 1394.

There are 3 choices: optical, spdif, and spdif mirroring.. I selected spdif..which should be for RCA.

1.I have selected the S/PDIF option and using a Hosa RCS digital coaxial cable (light blue color..bought it at Guitar Center).

Here's my update on this ( and again , thanks for all ):
Both units appear to be in sync now.. I get a "record in sync" when recording in PTOOLS.
I still get no waveform in audio track display...

Thanks Rail for the insight.. like I said the VS-FORUM says MIDI is not needed here (why?). Anyway,
when I choose spdif as input from PT, I don't here any audio.. I see the "waiting for sync"...
