Re: New PT Prefs helper

I get the pain with UIs that evolve. Been there with commercial products, getting early versions of VMware products easy to use was interesting. Maybe it's good to go hard to the simple to use way as...

Re: No output through built-in speakers

Uh oh good Dave correction, I had to go check, the Behringer UMC202HD does indeed come with an ASIO driver. Some of their low-end interfaces only packaged ASIO4ALL and did not include an actual ASIO...

Re: Access Google drive or dropbox from older browser?

3.33 6 core... you mean a MacPro 5,1? aka 2012 Mac Pro? Please just give the actual model or even better the EMC number.

You are on 10.8.5 Mountain Lion.
You need a metal capable GPU to upgrade...

Re: Clicks and Pops on Import Audio in 2021.10

Things to think about: Are you absolutely sure the click and pops are actually in the imported MP3? Like can you see them on the waveform?

There is something a little strange/different going on...

Re: New PT Prefs helper

Hi Pete

I'm a fan of your plugin version checking feature (thanks again for adding that back), but I wonder how many people even notice it's there.

One thing that might have been handy in the...

Re: Which files do you recommend saving into a second drive?

Just be aware that article is out of date, the separate timeline cache meter was removed in Pro Tools 11/combined into one meter.

Re: No output through built-in speakers

Simple answer is don’t do this.

Pro Tools really requires a Audio interface with an ASIO driver.

ASIO4ALL is a wrapper around Windows sound devices that makes them look like ASIO devices, it...

Re: Which files do you recommend saving into a second drive?

You can guess the size of the audio in your sessions and set the disk cache to that, then look at the disk cache meter as sessions load. The reference guide has an explanation of that meter. Now does...

Re: Plugins Not Showing

Great you got going. I really like to leave installers saved somewhere, in case they are needed again. And a spreadsheet with links to downloads, or install notes can help.

Re: will avid make eleven rack drive for m1 Mac

The Audient ID14 only has S/PDIF In on TOSLINK (switchable between S/PDIF and ADAT). It does not have AES/EBU or S/PDIF output so you can't reamp purely digitally. And you would need a TOSLINK to...

One reason you actually would have .VST files “scattered around” is you...
