i think you might be getting some terminology confused. The PCI card that connects to the 001 is not your "video" card, that's just part of the protools interface. you probably have a AGP graphics...

yeah the demo here mentioned those. I do recall him saying that varispeed could reproduce that "tape machine stopping sound" so obviously that would affect pitch somehow.

This means they were originally recorded wrong. If you set the session to 44.1 but left the presonus at 48, Protools will label your audio as 44.1 even though its really 48.

I'm pretty sure outs 1&2 are balanced +4 outputs while 3-8 are unbalanced -10 outputs. That would explain your level differences. I don't think there is much you can do about it.
