Re: using waves tune lt

You have to play the track into the plugin in real time, then the next pass it will be doing it's thing. You do need to check out the manual to understand the editing controls

Re: reel tape suite

I like the suite quite a bit but it seems to be a cpu hog! (I haven't tried the 8.0.1 update yet)
The Tape emulator and the Tape delay are really good, although not terribly flexible. I have the...

Re: Did Antares just commit profressional suicide?

I recently lost my Waves Tune plugin (which itself was a copy of Melodyne) and returned to using Auto Tune. I upgraded to the new Auto Tune Evo and I have to say it's pretty damn great! Basically...

Re: Best Plug-Ins for Exciters/Tape Saturation/"Color"

I second the Fatso plugin on the UAD card, it's really cool and flexible, much more than tape emulation, it also does transformer emulation and some complex and subtle compression if you want. Also...

Re: WOW, never saw this coming (-50)

Did you trash Digi prefs? and digi database on the drive? I've had this before, and that usually works. The drive is set to record, not just playback, right?

Re: Bus Compression.

I personally use the UAD stuff, the Precision Limiter is amazing on rock stuff and their SSL 4000 bus comp is very nice as well. They are a much better company to deal with than Waves, I've been...

Thumbs up Re: Latency compensation implementation?

My friends, this is already possible with Mellowmuse ATA plugin. The latest version allows you to enter in values manually and lock them if desired, and the pinging is even more accurate. I know alot...

Re: Some Panning questions

I also like splitting the BGV with a delay and thinning it out with EQ, try a heavier hand with the comp on the BGV so it sits back and behaves!

Re: I have done it ! I crossed to the "white" side.

Welcome, young apprentice (voice of the Emperor)! It'll definitely take some getting used to, but I find it much easier going from studio to home.

Re: This Darn Crackling with RTAS and Rewire!

Yes! I've been having crackling all of a sudden, also. Upping the playback buffer to 1024 helped for awhile, but not on all sessions. Seemed to be centered around Amplitube, but then my Waves...

Re: Overhyped DSP usage on an Accel card?

Jamey,
I'm wondering the same thing, and I might have more data soon. I've been borrowing an Accel card for some mixes and I'm buying a process card so I'll be able to compare their abilities next...

Re: hd1 plugin count/usability??

I just replaced my 002r with an HD1 and 96i/o and I have to say it ROCKS! I get WAY more plugins as a combination of TDM and RTAS and I feel at 44/48k I get plenty of TDM plugins as well. AT 96k it...

Re: Mic pre question...comparison

A great set of mic pres at a good price is the Sytek 4Aii. It really is up there with the API stuff as far as sound (clean and open sound, not very colored) but costs considerably less. Check them...

Re: UAD-1 / Tiger / LE 6.9.2 - Terrible !!

Yup, you're probably better off getting something else. It's alot of work just to use those plugins.

Re: 001-vs-002r

I bought a 002r when they came out and kept my 001. i ended up still using the 001 because it was already setup in my rack, (too busy to switch it out). I finally got around to AB'ing the mic pres...

Re: 96 i/o + gear OR 192 i/o, opinions please

I just upgraded form an 002r to an HD1 with a 96i/o and I think it sounds really great. I've been told that if I get a better clock then the 96 will sound even better. You know you should also look...

Re: UAD-1 / Tiger / LE 6.9.2 - Terrible !!

OK, basically the UAD through the VST wrapper introduces about 1500 msec of delay per plug. This is a digi thing to keep LE users from using the UAD card as a way around buying an HD setup. In HD the...

Re: Which version OF PT to use ?

Well, basically you should go at least to 6.4. The changes between 6.1 and 6.4 are huge. The way PT handles plugins changed significantly and is much better now. You can use RTAS plugs on Auxs, and...

Re: How many of you record @ 96k?

I'm using a G4 (AGP) with a dual1.8ghz G4 processor in it and I will say that recording at 96k sounds great but it is VERY hard on my machine. I got one Ren Reverb and 3 ren eqs, plus a MC2000 on the...

Re: 12\" powerbook/002r-record 10 tracks at once?

Jeff, thanks for the advice. In the meantime I went and got a 15" 1.5ghz because this job cannot go wrong. I'm only bringing enough mic pres for 10 inputs so I guess I'll be cool! Thanks again!

12\" powerbook/002r-record 10 tracks at once?

Hello everybody, I know it's been talked about a bit, but I have a gig recording demos with a big band in Barbados(!) and I'm need to buy a powerbook to travel. My question is: will a 12" powerbook...

Re: Digi Tour and PT LE 5.1

Yes, I agree, the 5.1 software looks cool, but what/when will we get? Digi? Anyone?
