Re: Pro Tools 2023.3 is out

I have similar issues just testing on a M2 Max. Install went fine, Avid Link required Rosetta for install, but when loading template sessions created by Avid XPand!2 doesn't load. I was under the...

Re: New M2 Macs Out Today

We can place bets on whether or not there will be a native M2 release before October. I'll be looking into other DAW software options in the meantime if I want to test the new M2 Max for audio...

Re: Pro Tools 10 for OS X Mavericks?

10.3.9 is out as of last week, and still no Mavericks support. I have a Retina MBP that came with ML and it works amazingly well with PT 10HD with all of my plugins. I have no desire to upgrade this...

Re: Best PT 10 (not HD) interface workhorse?

Killer thread everybody, thanks! This will come in handy for a lot of people I know doing the PT 10 and up, 10.7 and up shuffle.

Re: Best PT 10 (not HD) interface workhorse?

Those are great suggestions, thank you. Anything reputable in the <$1k range? For example, when I first made the PT home move, I bought a Digi-001, and it did ok for learning the basics almost 12...

Best PT 10 (not HD) interface workhorse?

So now that the interface floodgates have been opened in the last two revisions of PT, can anyone chime in on their experiences with using different interfaces and the value of results for at least...

Re: 8.01 bugs

Of those many hours, have you tried starting with an empty session with max voices/tracks, then the same session with audio, then the same session with only suspect problem plugs, then process of...

Re: Protools 8 New look, old look! Discussion

I am mixing now in PT8. It is my first experience after using PT through every upgrade since version 4. The first thought that came to mind was, "oh no, I am going to dread using PT 7 from now on"...

Re: Cannot upgrade SYNC firmware. Advice?

Problem solved. Attention to detail. It is firmware 121, not 211 as I mistyped above, but I was able to successfully upgrade, most probably by selecting the correct PCIe card in the drop down menu. I...

Cannot upgrade SYNC firmware. Advice?

PT8, current firmware is 114, trying to upgrade to 211 that PT 8 requires. Tried multiple times with restarts in between, starting with SYNC i/o booted normally(with LEDs lit on panel). It is a SYNC...

Thank you Digi, 8 year old session opens fine!

Just a big grateful thank you to backward compatibility with Pro Tools. Dug out a CD backup of a session from January '01 that I forgot about. Opened it up and it came right up and sounds great.

Is HDx recording compatible with Leopard?

The last time I tried to record with HDx cards Leopard was already out with 10.5.1 being supported by Digidesign, but only "Tiger" was supported for HDx card operation with Venue systems. Now all of...

Re: HDx, Pro Tools HD 7.4.1, Leopard.

So, is there some kind of consensus about how many Digilink cables I can use with HDx? Is 3 allowed with and HD|3 system? Or is it just 2 or 4? I am going to use two systems to record next week using...

Re: HDx, Pro Tools HD 7.4.1, Leopard.

As a matter of fact, just recently many people have been telling me how difficult it is for Digi to work with Apple, and a a smart alternative is to use a PC running Windows. Or, maybe a Mac running...

Re: HDx, Pro Tools HD 7.4.1, Leopard.

Yes, that is true, except that the system I am runnning is approved by Digi. And it runs reasonably fine in its Pro Tools environment, and now 6 months after Leopard's release, it would have been...

Re: HDx, Pro Tools HD 7.4.1, Leopard.

Well, I guess that's an option, maybe I will inunstall 7.4.1 and try 7.3.1 for the hell of it, but honestly I can't afford to be beta testing on the job at Madison Square Garden. This is what makes...

Re: 7.4.1 Running out of CPU power? NO I\'m NOT!

I think I know what you mean, but that's how we use computers. We double-click files and the appropriate app opens if it isn't already running, and this happens just fine, but stops there.

HDx, Pro Tools HD 7.4.1, Leopard.

Does HDx work with Leopard? I have two systems recording a live show coming from two Venue consoles. One system is HD|3 7.3.1 with TIger, running flawlessly. Second system is HD|3 7.4.1 running...

Re: 7.4.1 Running out of CPU power? NO I\'m NOT!

I'm thinking it's a plug-in/Leopard thing. Lots of unexplained weaknesses turning up in this current Leopard scenario.

Re: 7.4.1 Running out of CPU power? NO I\'m NOT!

Thanks for the insight, will check it next time I get my computer back (had to send it to David Letterman). I also want to add that it has a few other RTAS plugs running, like Nomad Factory, PSP VW,...
