Why use the adat for a/d conversions...

Use your ears to know if the sound as changed 20/24bit.
In theory there should be no loss on your sound.

This is what I learned so far about the high pitch noise on the Mbox.

It could be the USB wire (from Digi) itself.

Yes we are plugged directly on the mac USB.

considering the order of the updates, do you know were i could check for info on that matter?

There is a high pitch noise in the system. Analog inputs and the input/playback mix knobs are affected.
Turning them transform my MBOX in some kind of strange "synth". Plus the focusrite preamps...
