Pro Tools Free DAE error -6008
I am running Pro Tools Free on a powerbook G3 with 128mb of RAM. I recently started having problems, in that whenever I try to open Pro Tools Free I get the error message, "DAE error -6008, not enough memory" or something along those lines. The frustrating thing is that it usually works, and without anything seeming to have changed, this error begins popping up? I tried adjusting the preferred memory in both Pro Tools Free and DAE but nothing worked. What to do?!?! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Pro Tools Free DAE error -6008
Well, 128MB is pretty borderline. Buying more RAM (even at those inflated prices for the laptop) may help.
But first, have you gone on a search & destroy mission in Ext. Mgr. to create a radically stripped-down Extension & Control Panel set for when you're using PT Free? Possibly you've installed add'l prog's, fonts, etc. that have increased RAM usage by the OS itself. Be sure to disable power mgmt, networking, Norton FileSaver, screensavers & all that stuff. PT Free can't grab the "preferred" amt of RAM if it's not avail. Answerbase, DAE error 6008 |
