I have a Sony VAIO CW Series. With Intel Core Duo 2 Processor and Windows 7 (64 bit) I use a M-Audio Profire 2626 with a combination of Pro Tools 8 M-Powered. 4 gb of DDR3 RAM. I have a RICO firewire port. I already tried to reinstall the drivers, and nothing has worked. But I believe I have found the solution.. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I have a RICO firewire port. I need a texas instrument firewire port for the most efficency. And the cause of the DAE error is the glitcches with the Win7 drivers for PT. And the cause of my tone frequency issue is the firewire port as I said.

I solved the problem on my windows 7 starter by going to setup > Playback Engine and set the DAE Playback Buffer(disk buffer), Plug-In Streaming Buffer to Level 0 and the Cache size to minimum. In my case my netbook has limited resources like intel Atom and 1 gb of ram therefore this solved the problem, however you can increase the buffer and cache size if your hardware is powerful enough to accommodate it.

Thanks

Ah the wonders of the "SANDRA report".

Not having TI fwire chipset does not (and "should not" btw) mean that IS the problem.
