Default Boot from CD ?

Hello fellow Venue users,

we need to create an "image" of the venue hard disk, for backup purposes. This is done easily without any damage to the hard drive and it's data by booting an imaging application from CD. However, when I temporarily chage the BIOS setting on Venue's computer to boot from CD and save it, upon restart it reverts back to the factory BIOS settings (in other words, my changed don't take) and it won't boot from CD.

Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks much!
Bryan

Hi Bryan,

Press the F10 function key repeatedly while the system boots up, then select the CD as the boot device. This is the same approach used to boot from the System Restore CD.

Out of curiosity - which imaging app are you using?

Sheldon

Hi Sheldon,

Thanks much... I went at it from too techy an approach!! The dangers of giving us IT guys a PC connected to our sound boards

I actually really like the products from http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/

I own BootItNG, as I had to purchase it to resize a RAID partition, and it was about 1/10th the cost of the commercially available products (like partition magic). It has imaging built in as well.

However they have a stand along imaging solution called "Image for Windows" and it is under $40. I'd be very confident in that product.

Thanks for the info!
Bryan
