Default lag time when trying to play or record

Hey can anyone tell me why my 002 won't play when i push play on some of the songs its like it has a 10 to 20 second delay before it starts to play

Hello can anyone tell me how to stop the lag on my 002 when i push play , it has a 10 -20 second delay before it starts to play.

I guess you didn't read shan's post above...and please search the forum before posting. There's a very good chance that most problems you may encounter have been exhaustively cured in other threads which are readily available for your perusal.

Check to see if you have any drive connections to devices that are no longer there e.g. E:\, F:\ etc. If you do, remove the links. I had this problem and that was the cause.

And in case you dont want to click on that link. Then try this first:


Go to Setups > Preferences... > Operation > Open Ended Record Allocation > Limit To: 10 minutes

If that doesnt work then read the other thread I linked to.

The link Shan provided was for help on my computer with much the same problem. I added a gig of ram to my computer which was only 512 and now is 1.5 gig...the difference is amazing. Also apply the tweaks suggested by Chris (along with Shan and Rail some of the most knowedgeable posters) that he gave me in the thread.
