Digi 001 and Digi 002 MIDI Ports are Not Supported

The ASIO Driver is currently not compatible with the MIDI ports of Digi 001 and Digi 002. The ASIO Driver installer will remove this functionally. As a workaround, you can use a third-party MIDI interface (such as MIDIMAN 4x4). Or, if you are using a Digi 001 or Digi 002, and would like to regain this functionality at a later date, run the repair option (from the Pro Tools installer) after removing the ASIO Driver. Also, check back for updates of the ASIO Driver.
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Didn't see that coming. Instead of saying "That sucks" I'm going to ask you good people what, in your opinion, is the best way to deal with this problem. If I get the Midiman 4x4, will I still be able to use my triton to sequence in PTLE? Will there be any extra latency? What are you going to do?

It's disappointing that MIDI isn't supported, but more worrying is the fact that MIDI will become completely disabled on the hardware. I assume that the PTLE installer will reinstall the ordinary driver in order to fix that.

I was hoping it might be possible to use the ordinary driver for PTLE to use my 001 with, and also have the ASIO driver installed for using third party software with my 001. I guess this won't be possible, and I'll have to use one or the other.

Can anyone confirm or deny this? Digi?

Anyway, the ASIO driver will still be a step forward. Here's hoping a future update of the driver will contain a MIDI fix.

peace

I agree. The lack of MIDI is disapointing. Hopefully this will be fixed in a future release. All I want is to use my 001 with PT and Logic using audio and MIDI. I don't want to buy another MIDI interface, and I was kind of suprized Digidesign suggested we BUY another product to use MIDI.
Well, I won't complain. I'm not a programmer and I don't understand why we don't get MIDI yet but the ASIO driver is a great thing.
Thanks DIGI!!!!
