Default Re: consensus on 10?

Count me among those who haven't had a single hiccup, glitch, or gack. I've found 10 to be quite steady and solid, as was 9 before it.

[Disclaimer: The vast majority of what I do is record live classical music, with very little heavy-duty editing involved. I don't have to worry about monitor mixes or overdubs, or any elaborate signal routing, or any of the other things that most of the DUC denizens deal with on a daily basis. That said, I've still found PT to be more stable than REAPER, in that I can consistently crash REAPER by loading AU versions rather than VST versions of certain FX or VI's. All of my plugins are Avid-compliant, and they've all worked from the get-go.]

Cheers,

GT

No issues whatsoever with mine. Using the updated 10 and love it. I have been fortunate in that the issues I have had we're my own doing and did help my learning curve.

I haven't seen the bug so I'm still good with PT10. PT9 and PT10 has been the best versions for me and I've been using PT since PT5.x.

I've had times when I was getting the audio dropping out bug a lot and other times when I haven't seen it for weeks.

I currently am in the stage where I haven't seen the bug for a long time (knock on wood) and I am so happy with Pro Tools 10. I really wish it was 64 bit all the way through, but definitely my favorite Pro Tools yet. Disk Caching is the best. Other features and enhancements are great!

Besides the audio dropping out bug, I would say that PT 10 is ready for prime time. PT will never be bug free, but it is quite stable right now.

When you run into the audio dropping out bug, disable all outputs by holding down Cntrl-Option-Command and click on one of the outputs. Then enable the outputs again and you should be back in business for awhile. Much faster than restarting PT and faster than changing interfaces for me.

Dizzi,

If you see the "Audio Stops playing" stickie above, I've just had it confirmed on my Support thread, that this is fixed (or at least they've found the fix) and it will be rolled into an upcoming release.

Good news hopefully.

Cheers.

Cool Re: consensus on 10?

Sadly, full of bugs. I'm running a project exclusively to see how buggy it is, so far it's liveable but it's not very reassuring to come across issues that shouldn't exist in the 1st place. And when you do come across issues trying to figure out how to work around them.

Arrow Re: consensus on 10?

Ableton Live is my main daw, so buying PT 10 would be a downgrade..
