Yep, you're right my math sucks...
The tracks x inserts is the accurate d-verb number.
80...

about the timing I've verified the timing and it's ok.

The M-Powered seems to have advantage...

But I encourage any Mbox2 & CoreDuo user once testing d-verb to "reinitialize" the Playback Engine -
CPU x2
Buffer 1024
CPU Usage: 90%

to be surprised. PT should give extra power as weird as it goes.

though 80 d-verbs isn't 130 but still 20-30 more d-verbs ARE something...

I've actually noticed this behavior way back to the 5.X days. Selecting the lowest buffer and then 1024 seems to 'clear' this.

Nonetheless, still very impressive for a laptop.

So what was the conclusion here on RAs initial M-Powered results:

Quote:
Test A:
Pro Tools M-POWERED 7.1 (no cs applied)
Interface: M-AUDIO FastTrack USB.

http://files.takeshifters.com/dverb/...5DVerbMono.PNG

RESULTS: 32 Tracks armed and recorded for over a minute.
30x5 D-Verb mono inserts. Total: 150 D-Verbs

Won't be the first time we've had to Debunke a Mac!!! LOL

Another perfromance killer on XP was the Aheros (Airport) Wifi.

Disabling it under XP fix most Buffer under-runs...

RA,
Give us the update here on that first test result using M-Powered. Is this legit or not? If so give us a screen shot showing the total plugins of 150.

Also how is your M-Powered experience so far with the M-Audio interface? Just ordered the Black Box for my nephew's birthday.

Peace out and thanks for keeping us up to date here.

Default Re: Any 9400/E1705 Users on here

I am having massive problems with my 9400... as soon as one goes away, another appears. I have done every tweak known to man, and still nothing.

Right now, It can't even get past "launching DAE", yet at times I have had it running pretty good.

Is there anyone left on here that has had luck with this laptop?? Are there any not so obvious conflicts going on that are outside of the standard performance tweaks? It seems that anyone who has got them up and running have been plagued by problems, and then just got lucky with it starting to work.

I am really regretting this purchase now, and hope Dell doesn't ding me for any restocking fees when it goes back next week. I thought I did my research on this one! I've already paid for a macbook pro with my time wasted.

System is dual 2 gig, 2gb ram, oxford firewire drive, ATI graphics, etc. XP Pro, Clean clean clean, everything turned off that should be.

Any suggestions are appreciated
