Default Logic Control HUI Emulation Coming

There is very promising talk on the Logic TDM users group of Emagic's Logic Control doing HUI sometime this summer. I imagine that only us Logicheads know much about this controller, but it looks to be serious stuff for little cash. Logic Control...well...Penny and Giles faders, German programming, Mackie-build efficiency, endless rotation vpots, and a dedicated vpot board soon for tweaking. This is the controller to beat on the low end.

Are you talking about using the Logic Control in ProTools ?? because the Logic control will work under Logic TDM ( meaning running Logic with TDM hardware )...but i dought that the Logic Control will ever work under ProTools alone..but if that's what you mean by HUI emulation, then this is great news !!!

me neither...relaxo, where did you get that info ??
That would kill the HUI and most low end controller so why would Mackie or Digi make such a move...does not make any sense at all !!

I am not saying that I know for sure, just that some people on the Logic TDM users group act like they may know something. Go to yahoogroups.com.

I don't have any solid information but the last time I talked to my Emagic rep they mentioned that they really understand that a lot of people use both Logic and Pro Tools. They really would like to support it but they were not sure if it would happen. So, it seems as if this may be true. I don't know about support for other programs but if they did it the HUI way then I guess that would be possible.

hmmm... that would be nice.
it's like a nicely trimmed down HUI with a reasonable price.
people would still buy HUI's if they wanted the extra features.

Sure it can be possible that they will support PT.
After all the HUI is made by Mackie, so is the operating system.
Other company's like CM labs, SAC(radikal) and even yamaha are using te HUI emulation mode as well.

whish we could use the logic controller in extension with the HUI

They can definitely do a HUI emulation, but will you still want it when you find out that it doesn't work as well in that mode as it does with Logic? Radikal does the same thing, and you end up with a unit which compromises its functionality in order to conform to an existing spec. And since Digi won't modify their spec for these third-party products, they're basically stuck. I hope they prove me wrong, but I'm not optimistic about any of these HUI emulations.
