Default Pro Tools 10 with Pro Tools 11

Please forgive another newbie question:

At school we have PT 10. At home, I have PT 11.1. So, can I lay down tracks at school on PT10 and then bring them home and work more on them with PT 11? Work on things at home on PT 11 and take them to school and work with those tracks on PT 10?

Does that make any sense?

Thanks, as always,

Matthew

The question to usually worry about is what extra plugins if any are begin used and do you have those (and a license to use) on both systems. If its introductory/basic stuff they many not use any third party plugins which will make this easy. And worse case everything opens, but the missing plugins are just not available.

Pro Tools 10 and 11 can round trip as they both use the new session format. You have to explicitly save with the old session formats to be usable in in earlier versions of Pro Tools.

Only thing to remember is that if your PT11 session uses over 4GB memory (lots of VI's) then it's going to crash PT10

Part III: Sessions & Tracks
Chapter 11: Sessions

All of that is useful, but particularly this section:
Saving a Copy of a Session
