Default AutoHotKeys for "Cut Time"

Hey all,
I'm desperate to create a shortcut for the "cut time" function, something I use hundreds of times every day. I've downloaded Autohotkeys but so far I haven't been able to get a script to work. Here's what I'm doing (using PT 2018.1 on Windows 10):

^u::
WinMenuSelectItem, Pro Tools, , Event, Time Operations, Cut Time...
Return

Any guesses as to what I'm doing wrong?

Alt-1(number pad) brings up that window. It will always open to "change meter" the first time, so you'll have to manually select "cut time." If you hit the enter key to use the function, the window will close and you'll have to use alt-1 to reopen it each time. But if you click "apply" with the mouse, it will stay open.

Thanks Sean, but for some reason alt+1 turns on shuffle mode for me, not the Time Ops window. Also, opening the time ops window... not much of a shortcut. I really need one keystroke for Cut Time. Any autohotkeys users out there?

it's alt+1 on the number pad. Are you using a laptop?

Ah, that's a problem. But once you do have the window open and set to "cut time," it will stay open for the duration of the session as long as you click on "apply" instead of hitting "enter." Maybe not as fast as a keyboard shortcut, but a single click ain't bad.

No, never have. I'm generally fine with the available Pro Tools key commands.

So I've been keeping open the TO window and it does save me time, yes. Thanks so much for the tip. Would still love to learn why I can't get my AutoHotKeys script to work, though.

In brief, access it via PostMessage:

Code:
^u::
PostMessage, 0x111, 10271, 0, , Pro Tools
Return
Hope that helps, and let me know if it works for you.
