Thanks nst7, Stewart, and mykhal. That certainly makes sense. I am much more relaxed now.

The sheer number of routing possibilities was overwhelming at first, but the more I re-read the HD Omni Guide, the I/O chapter of the PT 10 User Guide, and experiment hands-on with the unit, the more it is all starting to sink in and come into focus.

It really is a versatile unit in addition to a great sounding one.

yep...it truly is a flexible unit. and i cannot even count how many times i re-read that damn manual!!!! it was like a rubix (sp?) cube...or somethin'!!??!!

If i had a wish with respect to the Omni; it would be to have a firmware update to take itself out of mute on startup. I always hit play and them have to walk across the room to un-mute. Lazy huh?

...and lower the default headphone volume so we don't get our ears blasted off.
