Re: Tape Slowing Down Effect??
I asked the same question on another forum. They told me to lower my sample rate. I dont know if that was right. But yah, your talking like a pitch control on a tape machine.
I read about some plug-ins, I came across vaguely some time ago. And I also know third party programs offer that type of control. bye |

Re: Tape Slowing Down Effect??
I dunno if you can do it in PT natively cause I've never messed around with the pitch stuff. there's a vst called 'tapestop' or 'stopit' or something that does just that. search google or kvraudio.com. it brings the audio down to a full stop over however long of a period you set. sounds remarkably like stopping a tape machine.
you can also do it in sound forge via the Pitch Bend effect. Will

Re: Tape Slowing Down Effect??
As mentioned in the link that Shane posted, Vari-Fi, a part of the D-Fi plugin bundle does this quite nicely.
The article gives good tips on it's use.

Re: Tape Slowing Down Effect??
And I can attest that the tip by Rhett Lawrence in the above link works very well. I used it a few times and was quite happy with the results.

Re: Tape Slowing Down Effect??
I just found a free VST plug called Slower which is like the Digidesigns Vari-Fi, but with a lot more control than just speeding up and slowing down. It's pretty cool actually. I don't have the link, but I'm sure you can find it at www.kvr-vst.com, or I can email it to you. Of course you'll need FXpansiond VST to RTAS converter to use it.
