Ok thanks so it will actually say "Parked".

I have an 8-Core i7 3820K (x79 SandyBridge-E), and still get this error now and again.

Core parking IS disabled across the board for me.

I think it's just the way PT is currently coded for Windows.
Depends on your workflow if it's a consistant problem.
W7 does have near Real-Tame capabilities but the App. has got to be coded for it.

PT is by far the most fragile Windows App. I've ever used.
That's what ya get when you keep heaping on features for 10 years so you can make some bucks off a new version without digging in and fixing the codebase.

All fixed in PT11, for sure

Are you using Nvida GPU?? If so, is latest driver installed ??
If so, right click on your desktop enter nvidia control panel.

Manage 3d settings > program settings >>
Search for the PT app and turn off what you can and save settings.

**I noticed everytime I close PT 10.2 and run Ccleaner registry PT creates about 7 reg-files.
http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download/standard

I fix them with Ccleaner after deleting:
*DAE Pref (Program Files>Avid>ProTools>DAE)
*Avid (Users>AppData>Roaming)
*Database (Program Files> Avid> Pro Tools
*User>AvidLogFiles (delete the file within, not the folder)

Additional things I do when in PT 10.2:
Go to help, check for updates and check Do Not check for updates automatically after search completes.
This is unchecked everytime I launch PT.
Plus I go to Options and Operation and uncheck Autobackup.

Hit us back with the results. Hope this works. Peace

Thanks, I didn't have an entry for Pro Tools inside the Control Panel so I created a new one and turned off as much as I could.

I'm using a GTX 560 Ti though, you'd figure it'd be up to any challenges!

No problem. Are you getting better results ??

*I would love to upgrade to an EVGA GeForce GT 640 but things are running smooth. So I'll bypass inserting a new gpu.

Can't really say for sure, I've just had to do a complete re-format and everything seems to be running smoothly for now, I've had a few lock-ups though.

WD Caviar Green 2TB HDD

I would try swapping for a normal 7200rpm 32mb hdd (64mb if mobo supports).
The green drives have been known to cause issues.
Sweetwater doesn't sell or install them in their systems for this reason.
