Default PT11 & 12 sluggish performance when CD in the drive

Just wanted to comment that both versions behave sluggish when a CD is present in the DVD/CD drive (plextor).

Opening an aux send, or renaming a track,everything took about 3 seconds to happen

It took some days to figure out why this randomly happened! :)

Yes, this is documented in the ReadMe and in a Troubleshooting video I made. Pull those things out before launching

...and disable AutoPlay:

Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\AutoPlay. (Uncheck)Use AutoPlay for all media and devices.

Interesting you would post this...a few weeks ago, I was ready to re-install my "I didn't change anything!" PT11hd (11.1.3) because of the same thing. EVERY operation gave the spinning disc of death...I had a blank DVD in the drive.
And Shan, thanks for the tip on disabling autoplay!
I just told my latest round of students...ProTools kicks ass, but it can be a real diva.

I was trying to render a song the other day, and I got a DAE error saying the system needed more brown M&Ms to continue...
