PC to MAC transfer question....firewire
Hey, I tracked a live concert for a friend so he can sync it up to video later. Anyway, I enforced mac-pc compatibitlity, etc.... My question is, the file is 30GB and I need to transfer it to his MAC as he is mixing it (and free up the space on my drive). He has a firewire drive, but it's formatted for mac. Is there a way I can hook it up to my pc and transfer the files to his firewire drive? Or does anyone have any ideas? Rail to the rescue.....

Re: PC to MAC transfer question....firewire
Rail just helped someone with the same question. Search his name for about the past 2 weeks and you'll find the thread quickly.
My firewire drive is formatted to FAT32 and I use it to read and write PT sessions from mac and PC. Shane

Re: PC to MAC transfer question....firewire
Download the demo of MacDrive6 from www.mediafour.com -- and if your FireWire card is up to the job you should be able to mount his Mac formatted drive and just copy the session.

Re: PC to MAC transfer question....firewire
Thanks, I have the SIIG 3-port PCI I/O 1394 card, do you know if it can handle it?

Re: PC to MAC transfer question....firewire
That should be fine. Any FireWire cards which are 002 compatible will be okay... otherwise you may get a transfer error when copying large files.
