Default How to remove Avid plugs

Hello. How can I remove the Avid plugins?

In PT10 I went to Package Contents and was able to remove them. Doesn't seem to work in PT11.

Thanks!

Im not even sure this is how you are supposed to do it.

But in the trouble shooting guide and or manual would show file paths to the two folders to look for.

HD>Library>Application Support> then Avid folder and also the Digidesign folder two locations as I said one for AAX plug ins and one for Rtas or .dpm

Also in the AVID folder located in your applications folder there should be two alias for AAX (.AAX) plug ins and RTAS (.DPM) plug in folders.

Next to both of those folders there also is a Plug In Unused folders.

I just put the ones I don't want in those unused folders and thats it.

The next time you update PT, it will reinstall the core plugins FYI.

Go to /Applications folder and right-click "show package contents" on the PT app. You will find find the plugins right there. Whatever you delete from the PT app will not be reinstalled later. DISCLAIMER: use this tip at your own risk!

"....You will find find the plugins right there."
Only in V-11.x (Package)
In 10 this would / should be empty. (Unless you put them there.)
(At least this is the way my systems are.)

V-11 - update/replace will put new Avid-core - plug-in/installers back in.

Curious, Why would you want to remove Avid core plug-ins?

Plug-in file menu management, increased launch time, troubleshooting procedures etc.

Yes, if the plugs are there in the PT app. Should one really want to not load those plugins, they can be moved to the unused folder first and then hack the PT app as I described. If a plug isn't in the PT app, it cannot be copied back to the plugin folder.

Needless to say, this is unsupported.
