Default The CD is dead!!

Just making' my first post straight from my iPod Touch!

Gotta love technology. Now if I can somehow install Pro Tools on this thing then I'd be set. Oh well, just wanted to be the first to do this. Hahahaha

If the CD were dead, what the hell would Prince have stuck on the front of all those news papers to give away his new album?

Interesting point...but...I meant the CD being dead from the viewpoint of going to a music store, buying a CD and putting it in a CD player to listen to. Those days, for the under 25 crowd, are very rare. The CD is basically a transportation device that gets to the user, gets ripped, and thrown on the portable mp3 players etc.

It's also interesting to see more and more bands release online only and use thumb drives for a "physical" product.

Dude, your days are long gone when you talk with the under 25 year old crowd.

Not to mention, the so called "HD" formats in the form of SACD and DVD Audio that were released back in 2000 are...um...kinda flopped big time. The ironic thing is that I myself screamed and whined for those formats...yet dont even own any of them.

Yeah, unfortunately the most popular consumer format is the mp3...and the format we hear on Radio(another format that isnt big like it use to be) is mp4's.

...then there is the audio on our DVD movies..
