Default Sonar 7 to PT 7.4

I looked around and didn't see anything that was relevant to this. So I shall ask the guru's here.

I have some VST's in Sonar 7 that I like, but am really (really) wanting to use them in PT's. Is there a way to click/drag a piece (drum track, midi) from Sonar over to Pro Tools?

I will absolutely jump circles if there is......

As always.....THANKS!

Airborne

U can use midi from any platform to another... However, U say u have VST's that u want to use in PT which would only require u have the VST to Rtas wrapper by FXPANSION; But, then u say in the same sentence, u want to drag midi into PT so I think ur getting ur DAW language crossed a bit...Or maybe not so much crossed up but just be a bit more specific to get an actual answer if that makes sense to ya...

When you say drag a piece, do you mean drag the song, VIs, plug-ins, settings and all? If so no.

Well, here is what I have. I have EZDrummer, but for whatever reason, it is only showing up in my Sonar. I don't want it in Sonar. I want to use it in PT since thats where everything else is that I have. Not sure if its how it was installed or what, but when I go into PT, it doesn't show up anywhere....just in Sonar.

So am I stuck with Sonar?

If EZ drummer is NOT a RTAS plug, and you DoN'T have the Fxpansion wrapper, it will not show up in Pro Tools. the ONLY way PT recognizes VST's is via fxpansion.

Stupid question, but does fxpansion come with PT 7.4? Or is this something additional I gotta get? LOL

(Man....the wife is gonna eventually take away my credit card!)

It's $99 from fxpansion.com and worth every dime.

Isn't Sonar 64 bit ready for Vista 64 and W7 64 with access to 1 terabyte of RAM? I'd make sure PT fulfills your VI/MIDI needs and performance first.

I'm a big fan of Pentagon I by the way, from back in the day when it was created and maintained by RGC Audio. A very under rated golden gem VI.
