Re: Midi Latency Problem welcome back in 12.6 :(
I don't think it's a question of hate, it's just that post and broadcast have been the higher priority. I find MIDI in 12.4 a bit more solid.

Re: Midi Latency Problem welcome back in 12.6 :(
Yes.
The workaround I also posted isn't exactly a usable solution either. If you remove/add plug-ins, or do anything that changes the max plug-in delay value, then you'll have to go into Global MIDI Offset and change that value manually every time. Shane

Re: Midi Latency Problem welcome back in 12.6 :(
what's steps for repro on this bug?....
plugs with latency in session then play VI and watch where data is placed? and is the late placement = to the session and/or plugin delay amount?

Play something simple and be accurate with your timing. I hit one note on my controller every second quarter note. Next, look at your performance and notice how bad you really weren't when you played it: Adjust the Global MIDI Offset and match it to the plug-in delay: Do the above steps again and you'll noticed it's closer to your performance: I ran no tests to A/B the maximum plug-in delay vs system delay for the Global Offset value. Avid can do that when they sort it out. If you really have time to burn, you can run the above test using a hardware synth and record audio from it along with the MIDI data to compare. Avid should be doing that on their end. Shane

Re: Midi Latency Problem welcome back in 12.6 :(
thanks Shane!
also...you have 'compensate after record' selected in your I/O since you are HDX, correct?
