Default Old Computers are Bad

I've been reading all of these posts that all end in "and...I have to buy a new computer in order to use PT|HD. That sucks!" It always amazes me, recording studios are the only place where people don't want to get a new computer. Listen, new computers are the best place to invest money. You get so much for so little.

I have done Mac and PC tech support in the media professions here in NYC for 8 years full time now. The new G3 and G4 Macs are soooooooo much better than the old scsi based machines. Speed, reliability, cost, OS's...everything. I know you all loved the 9600 for the slots, but especially now with more host based processing, just get rid of that old kludgepot. It must just be the recording studio mentality, "old is better." Forget that with computers, especially with Macintoshes. These new G4 run and run and run, without Norton utilities and tech support.

If it's not broke ... blah blah ... etc,

Anyway the G4 is busy running FCP!
