Angry PT8....eek!

Sheesh!
Who decided PT8 needed a gui workover?
It's horrible!

I can't see through all of this 'Vistaesq' crap you have programmed into the graphics.
I have been watching this forum for far too long, and in that time I don't remember a single complaint about the graphics, Delay Comp yes, a million times , but graphics...well never.

Please tell me the button that makes my PT system look like it's supposed to again.
If I wanted a video game I'd go get one.

Lol, I'm so pissed about it...

I'm a gal too.

Hey, why does this version keep priming playback when I hit the spacebar?

I agree. As I posted elsewhere, I work in a lot of recording studios and I can tell they're using Pro Tools with one glance, from a distance. Pro Tools 8.0 looks more like Logic or Nuendo than it does Pro Tools. Digidesign should give us a choice with the new skin or a classic skin button or theme

Cheers,

I don't get it.

The toolbar thing looks even bigger than it was before, can I get rid of it?
I simply can't see my way around the edit/mix screens anymore.

Now I realise this may come across as some kind of anti-progressive rant,
but the main reasons I use PTLE are

a. It's easy to take stuff from home to the studios I work in.
b. PT interface has always had the same look, feel and no brainer operation.
I can just get to work and don't have to wrestle with anything being too 'in my face'

If I could handle an interface or workflow change there are sooo many reasons to use different software, but gui overload has always made me decide otherwise.

Why change the one thing that is familiar and works, in every PT studio regardless of location, state of mind, whatever.

Making it look like Kontakt meets Nuendo on a skinned mac will probably increase your wow factor on the sales floor, but it's unneccessarily hyped up in the graphics department and simply not as good.

Here, in a working room, it just looks complicated and feels cumbersome.

Dear Digidesign, please provide the option old gui, new gui.

Phfff...

I honestly don't see what the big deal is other than the need for coming up with some crap to complain about. Yes they change all of the GUI but it still has the same pro tools feel, just different graphics. The majority of everything is still in the same exact place, then a couple things have been moved and added, and I'm really digging the new GUI.

I myself don't like many things in the new UI and quite a few of it needs to be fixed/changed asap.

I'll wait a few more weeks until the initial euphoric glee dust settles from the release and people really start to use it full time before I make my valid rants.

...and there definitely is, one big oversight missing.
