Default Anyone get Pro-Tools 8 To Work Without Issue On A P5K Quad Build?

I'm this close to doing a clean installation of Windows SP3, and PT8 and actually following the setup guidlines. PT8 is working excellently, but the autosave crapout problem is killing me, and I think its time I get rid of the AV and stuff on my system anyway.

I'm just curious to know if anyone with a similar build to mine has got this going.

I use the P5K without the wi fi. Other than the known bugs and the new bugs that are popping up, all seems to be fine so far. I have auto save turned on and things seem fine. What issue are you having with auto save?

I'm using the Asus P5K3 Delux with Wifi, a Q6700 and DDR3. But disabled the Wifi cause no internet for me on my DAW.
Have no problems here with PT 8, even autosave is working. Have to say that I'm using the M-Powered version.

Q6600, WinXP SP3, 4GB RAM (nothing fancy), and a P5K mainboard that is so plain I was afraid that it would get confused with anything past 2+2..

Occasionally I have the start/pause thing crop up, and twice in two weeks I have had the autosave error say hello.. but mostly worry-free.. and certainly powerful.

I do know that when my WIFI is enabled the pause/start thing is almost constant.

Hope this helps..

Peace!

I plan on reinstalling PTLE 8 on a clean Windows installation.

So out of curiosity . . Are you all ignoring all of the updates which you could download (since SP3s release) for Windows? Are you all, authorizing your Virtual Instruments by telephone or using another PC? I think I might like to shut the internet out completely from this rebuild. Do you guys install the MOTHERBOARD MONITORING PROGRAMS that usually come with your boards to watch CPU Temp, etc???

Installing PT8 after a clean windows installation is always good.

Never upgraded my OS it's SP2 and it works fine so no need for upgrading when it's all working. Disabled my network cards so no internet on my DAW. To authorize I'm using another PC.

It’s always good to monitor your temp’s, but need to know your PC as well.
I haven't installed the monitoring software for my temp's. If you're know what you're doing you can do a CPU stress test and some other benchmark tests like I did, to know what your PC can handle. I monitored my temps and some other things by using HWMonitor and CPU-Z by cpuid.com.
You can also do the The Dverb Test you'll find it here on DUC and monitor your PC.

So you know what your PC can handle.
