The most important tip for a new user
Never, ever, ever, ever submit a post with a "WTF" in the header.
If you do that, you will be shunned for eternity.

Re: The most important tip for a new user
Seriously though its hard to be taken serious when you do that.
Regardless of who you are or how long you've been posting its ends up coming across like something posted by a belligerent 12 year old. Not that we all haven't probably wanted to post that at some time or another mind you. Angry red frowny faces and red thumbs down emoticans can kinda detract from the urgency of your shiny new thread too. However if you have just downloaded the Apple 10.X.X update and it totally hosed your system a yellow triangle with a exclamation is totally on point.

Re: The most important tip for a new user
And please...PLEASE....give us a fighting chance by giving us information..........LOTS of information. It doesn't do much good to say "my system is ^(*&_)*&(*^%*&^%. What should I do?"

Re: The most important tip for a new user
...And read the manual. Or at least open up the .pdf version and search for what you are looking for. Lots of good stuff in those manuals.

Re: The most important tip for a new user
As mentioned above, the manual in pdf format is a quick way to get answers. Ctrl+Shift+f is your best friend in most PDF readers. It will do a global search of the term in the manual and display a list one can quickly scroll through to find answers. The only downside is not knowing the nomenclature or exact term to search for, which can be quickly discovered by asking on the forum.

Re: The most important tip for a new user
Or I'll be posting a Sandra report shortly.... How many two or three page threads are there where the OP still hasn't given up the required information

I pretty much bypass those ones also. Someone will get to it when they get to it. Sometimes it can even take a few days. The free tech support is donated knowledge and time by those who choose to answer and help with their generosity. Something to keep in mind from time to time. Shane

Lots of good ideas here and if I made be allowed to add one more: check YouTube for tutorial videos - they're free.
