@albee1952
Sure, there's wordclock.

From the Connectivity section on the RedNet3 page...
• Word Clock input via BNC port
• Word Clock output via BNC port

It's required if you want it to work to specs otherwise it wouldn't make sense to sell the card, no?

What?

I don't see what you are trying to say. I never said they shouldn't sell the card, just that you can use this interface without their card.

This may have interesting applications for composers who use standalone VI's, or something like Mainstage, to be able to get audio out to their main interface, whether on the same computer or a slave.

What would be great would be if they added a 5th module for monitoring, midi, etc.....

All at a reasonable price....

Yes but it might not work to specs so in the end you might still need the card plus an empty slot I guess.

Me to, actually something like the Rednet 4 would be very cool. But NAMM is over and no 004 in sight.

Everything the next gen Avid 00x product line should be. These definitely have my attention. Some interesting info from the RedNet PCIe Card page:

• Enables ultra-low-latency performance in RedNet - less than 3ms latency at any sample rate*

*Latency performance under 3ms assumes a DAW buffer setting of 32 samples or less.

Unfortunately on the PC platform, we can only go down to a buffer of 64 in Pro Tools. With other DAWs on the PC platform, the 32 buffer option is there. That said, I'd love to do some benchmarks on these gems.

From what I'v read on mac PT can do hbs of 32 because osx has better drivers that windows ?

Is this correct and does this still apply when comparing to Windows 7 ?

Actually, it is the other way around. Only Windows 7 has been able to get to 32 samples buffer with Pro Tools 9 and non-digi/avid hardware.
